Sushi House Buffet Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Due to the mixed reviews, I had to try this place for myself. Most of the reviews are true: They are clean, dirty, flavorful, lack variety, and fresh, but old, all at the same time. I was torn between 1 or 2 stars, but settled on 1 star for the cool sushi chef and 1 star for good customer service. The restaurant itself is clean, but my husband found an eyelash on his cantaloupe. One of the chef's (who was super cool and attentive) made me something off the menu with seared salmon, green onions, shoyu, masago, and idk what else, but it was full of flavor and I probably should've asked for more. I thought the rolls were pretty boring. Can't forget the sauce since there's either too much of it, or at least some of the unappealing pink sauce on most rolls. You can see that the food is being freshly made as you order it, but there were a bunch of items on the rotary that were there when I got there and were still there when I left. It's not their fault, there just aren't enough customers to eat the food so the chefs can refresh it. I ordered salmon sashimi and it was the same pieces of fish they used for the nigiri. If you ever notice sushi-grade salmon at other restaurants, they at least have a few lines of fat in them. At least. The salmon here was plain looking with one line of fat in it. I'm no expert, but to me, that speaks volumes of the quality of fish they are serving. It's just not succulent. (After looking at other Yelper's pics of their salmon sashimi, I wish I had taken photos bc the salmon they were serving on 6/1/15 for dinner looked quite the opposite). As for the buffet, I tried the crab legs (which drew me here in the first place). NEVER have I been to an Asian buffet where NO ONE was eating the crab legs. They didn't have to replenish the crab once during my time there. Between my husband and I alone, normally, the restaurant would have to replenish their tray of crab legs. The legs were small and the crabs were malnourished. When I did get a decent piece of crab meat, half the time it was way too salty and dry. Their mayo chicken and sautéed mushrooms were decent, though. Never coming back. I left unsatisfied. After trying a few items, there just wasn't anything else I wanted to eat. Not worth almost $40 for two ppl ($31 + tip). After eating here, I def appreciate Fuji Sushi a lot more. To each his own - I just personally can't see why anyone would opt for this place over them.

Sushi: special rolls don't bother nasty Sashimi : it's ok but very thin Chowmein is good. That's about it.

Can't complain! Their foods was actually pretty good. It's kinda hard to find a good buffet that actually serve decent sushi too!! Also for that price pretty amazing!! Loved the fact that we could order fresh special sushi roll from our table!!

I've seen this restaurant go through 3 changes in the past several years. 3 times a charm I guess. I took my family here for lunch on a weekday. Here is my experience. Appearance Ambiance: clean, standard decor. Nothing remarkable. Kinda quiet except when the trains go by. Bathrooms were clean. Pricing: fairly inexpensive. They gave us a grand opening discount of 20% off. That was nice of Them! STAFF: Hostess and service staff was friendly and fairly quick in bussing old plates. The Buffet: Food is JUST OK. It appears that the cooks are trying to cut costs by skimping on ingredients on many of the dishes. For example, the Beef Chow Fun noodles were more been sprouts and heavy sauce and the noodles were the thinnest and shortest chow fun noodles I've ever had. The beef was paper thin. Didn't taste like chow fun either. It was Chow UNfun! I feel cheated when this happens. C'mon, cook your best and people will enjoy the food and return for more. It's THAT simple! Also I'm adventurous but some of the dishes I don't care for: chicken feet, frog legs. No thank you. Sushi: I call this "filler sushi". But you do get what you pay for. That is to say, do not expect the same or even close quality as Mikuni or even Satori or you will be disappointed. You have the choice of ordering from the server or walking up to the bar and picking off the conveyor. We ordered from the server three different rolls. The Mexican Spice, Dragon and Spider rolls. Ironically they all Had the exact same treatment with just the centers swapped out. (Rice, cucumber, avocado, sweet/spicy sauce topped w/tempura crumbs) so the flavor profiles are pretty much the same. (Boooring!!!) The rice didn't really taste like real sushi rice either. The Spider roll had barely any soft shell crab in it. They can definitely improve on this!! Also I would remove any signs or notices that tell your customers to "not waste or they will be charged". Seriously, this is unprofessional, tacky and off putting. Of course we don't want to waste. Buts it's a buffet and it happens. Either deal with it or don't do a buffet style restaurant. Heres the thing...If the food is good they'll eat it and not leave it on they're plate. Overall: I guess for the price we paid it was a decent value. Normally when I go to Asian buffets I eat so much I can barely walk to my car. For this place, I went there to eat but I didn't seem to over indulge. I just wasn't enjoying the food here. They need to work on the quality, flavor and variety of the food. I don't mean fine dining. Do a little research with your competition (Mizu, Fuji, Satori, Mikuni) and match their quality. I would rather pay an extra $7-$10 and get a better quality product and experience. I hope they can improve on this and knock it out the park or else it's just a matter of time we see the sign go up... Like comedian Chris Rock once said,"Grand Opening...Grand Closing!"

Sushi House Buffet is currently the best lunch bargain in the Elk Grove/Sacramento region with the grand opening 20% off. It is only $8 per person after the 20% discount. 1. The restaurant is very clean (the restroom as well). 2. Friendly, attentive and helpful waiters. The waiter will take the sushi roll order off the menu and bring the freshly made sushi to your table. 3. I did not like the hot and sour soup (too sour) and the Chinese tamales. 4. The fish steak was tasty and fresh. 5. The baos were fresh and delicious. 6. The cantaloupe and honeydew were sweet and fresh. 7. I thought the Hammer Roll was only OK. 8. The Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll were very good. However, as some of the Yelpers had pointed out, the fish portion was on the thin side. Once again, I am paying only $8. It is at least $20 to $30 for me (lunch) when I visit Mikuni. 9. The wonton soup was good. 10.As mentioned by another Yelper, the salmon is fresh here. 11.The tiny crabs were very meaty and fresh. I didn't expect that. 12.Chicken dishes were good. Chow Fun was very good. Beef dishes were pretty good. Does this place have the best sushi in the entire Sacramento region? No. Nevertheless, people will find this very clean and spacious restaurant with decent quality, huge choices, and a bunch of average to above average sushi rolls- all at a very affordable price. I will definitely be back to try more sushi rolls with my lunch pals and family members. I encourage fellow Yelpers to take advantage of the 20% promotion while it is still valid. I am not sure about dinner but lunch is a great bargain.

Great competition for FUJIs, a lot more spacious and there's always room for you. Only downside is no ice cream machine otherwise the service here is great!

Good food, nothing too exceptional but great selection and quality for the price. $10 lunch Buffett is pretty decent. Sushi rolls that we ordered were really good. I would recommend to try

Decent food, decent sushi, decent price. But the waitresses made me feel rushed and unwelcome. They even gave us our bill when we weren't even half way done and one lady even took my plate when I was still eating off it. The second I took a bite and put the shrimp down she reached for my plate and asked if I was done. Well I mean I guess since she was already taking it!!!! She was also staring at us while we were at the sushi bar as if we had bad intentions.

Terrible! The place was clean and looks nice, but food wasn't good at all. Especially if your comparing to fuji buffet. For having such low quality food, you would think that they would be cheaper. $16/ person.... not worth it! I would never come back.

This place is great. Idk what people are talking about. I always go here. The salmon sashimi is not the best Bc it was frozen but the rolls are bomb. Their fried oysters and crab are good and the raw oyster is the best I've tasted in sac. They are plump and juicy with the briny ness of the sea with out the bad oyster stench aftertaste. They are delicious.

I would have never knew that this place ever existed if it wasn't for a bunch of high schoolers who were outside waiting at a different sushi buffett that we coincidentally were at. It happened to be the Fourth of July and the place was closed to our disappointment. The kids then told us about Sushi House and told us that they'd were open. They were kind enough to give us the address. In a few short minutes we arrived. The first thing I noticed was the grand opening sign. I was excited. Very spacious dining area. Looking inside we see the buffett section and the sushi bar. We sat at the sushi bar where the rotating boats of half rolls and two piece nigiri entice you to grab it. They have a menu at the bar with all the different style rolls to choose from. I'm more of a sashimi guy. I asked the sushi chefs to make a large plate of just sashimi. It looked great except that it was sliced just a bit thin, unlike the original sushi buffett I was going to go to. They also have the buffett section which is a mix of Chinese food, crab legs, seafood entrees, and desserts. I wasn't too keen on the Buffett stuff. I came for sushi. For quality sake, it is a buffett, so the freshness isn't always there. However they do make up for it in the service. Yes, I enjoyed my large plates of sashimi and deep fried oysters. Pretty much had the same things as the other buffett, but with a tad bit more on the self serve section of the Buffett. Makes a hard decision when I decide to come back since both buffetts are literally right down the street from each other. Oh and just about all the patrons were all Asian. Another good sign. One price for sushi and Chinese and seafood buffett. I think this place will do well.

I went here with my friends and we loved this place a lot better than Fuji's sushi buffet. Sashimi tastes so good. And their rolls are amazing. Plus the chinese food they have there is really good. Definitely try the salt and peppered frog legs, they're so good! Definitely will come back here again.

You get what you pay for to sweet for my taste and bland. I might I give it one more try for dinner menu but I don't think it's worth it... if you order rolls get half roll orders cause you don't want to try an finish a full one if you don't like it. Good price if you're hungry.

At first i really liked this place. I was going to give it a 4 star review. I thought the food was good. The sushi was good for buffet. And the selection is good too. But my third visit here i go in with my wife and baby. And my wife wasnt going to eat because she's fasting for lent. They wouldnt seat us because she had to be charged as well. She was just gonna feed the baby. We were planning on sitting at the bar so you can see that she wasnt going to sneak food. So lame. Whatever. I was planning on coming to this place 3 times a week. And now i say forget it. Maybe they'll fold like the last two buffets here.

Went today to see how they were in comparison to kame. Saw a lot of 2 and 3 star ratings but I and my other half decided to try anyways, pleasantly surprised. We sat at the bar, was lunch time mid-week, not too packed thank goodness. We both had some of the hot food, was not the biggest selection or the freshest, and almost everything that wasn't in little bite sizes had bone. That said, it all tasted pretty decent. I imagine lack of selection and freshness were both due to it being slow and lunch. Server was friendly but not great about refills. Busboy stayed on top of keeping finished plates clear from our area. Sushi bar!!! Would avoid taking from sushi track solely for freshness and not being sure what it is BUT if you order your sushi fresh(no extra cost and can order all you can eat) it is pretty great. Sushi guys constantly busy so you have to speak up when you want something but they're very friendly and make great sushi for 9.98 per person, unlimited. Desert bar has typical buffet stuff, jello, pudding, fruit and etc. should be 3.5 stars for hot food quality and lack of refills but again, was lunch time, will review again when we can get in for dinner. Aside from that, was very nice experience, will be back.

my 9th time here...and I have no complaints about this place yet....come at the peak hours, noon and 6pm....the food is usually fresh....The service is exceptional.....you also get an additional 20% off your meal, since it's their grand opening...

I have gone now 4 times or about once a month since opening. If you go when it's busier like Friday at lunch, the Chinese food is pretty good. Just watch for what is being brought out or looks fresh. For $9 (with the 10% off), it's similar in price to stopping off at a typical place for a rice plate or a plate of noodles, and you get a little bit of variety. The sushi rolls are still best described as a cheap chinese american interpretation of a sushi roll. I have tried 5-6 of them now, and honestly, with all of the sauces on top, it all tastes pretty much the same. Not saying that they are bad, but they literally are mixing and matching the same 5-6 ingredients (rice, salmon, shrimp tempura, crab mix, spicy tuna mix, and avocado) into a roll, and putting the same sauces on them so it's not surprising they taste pretty similar. Pluses - place is clean, service is good and it's a comfortable place to have a meal. Minuses - don't expect quality sushi.

I went here for dinner right at 5:00 pm. By the amount of people that ended up in the restaurant from the time we were there, I'd say there's ample parking out front. The place looked clean and had that typical asian buffet decor. I believe dinner was about 15 or 16 dollars for all you can eat. They had a decent selection of food- crawfish, crab, oysters, fish, sushi, frog legs, chow mein, two soups, and some meat and veggie dishes and bok choy along with fresh fruits and desserts. The flavor excitements wasn't there at all, but there was plenty to choose from. If you're into gourmet eating, this isn't the place for you. If you're there for a free for all and to feed some hungry kids and people, this is the right place. You can order different sushi rolls from their menu which is nice. The service was good. They took dirty plates right away and gave us plenty of napkins. They also roamed around frequently enough to catch custom sushi orders. If you're vegetarian or vegan, there's not a whole lot of options unless you're willing to pick out veggies from meat plates. You can also order avacado and cucumber rolls or any other veggie sushi. i don't know that I'll go back- it was just ok. There were plenty of families with kids who got more than their money's worth though. It was nice to try, but I wont be craving anything from this place any time soon. It's a good neighborhood restaurant but definitely not a destination for out -of -towners.

First & LAST time there!!! Food was okay, Crab was over done. But the BREAKING straw was when my husband BROKE his tooth on some food & manager did NOT care, said OH peoples back tooth break all time, happens. He did Not offer to comp his meal the meal ticket or anything!!! BTW he had to have the WHOLE tooth REMOVED because Nerves were exposed & we can not afford to crown it! We will NEVER send anyone here to this place. Bad service plates were NEVER cleared from table & poor management!I do not write reviews but they deserve this one! Never going back & letting everyone know what happened!

Chinese food is good. Sushi on the belt is ok. The covering of each plate made it hard to see. As the other states the fish portion is thinly cut. Having said that, asking the sushi chef to make a variety of rolls, those rolls as normal sized. I think they're trying to cut down on waste, which to me is understandable. Service is excellent. Facility is very clean.

Left with a weird feeling to my stomach. Chinese food was just mediocre. Nothing I had fried was crispy. Sushi was disgusting. The rolls had a sour taste to it. Best thing I had was the chow mien. Pay a little more and go somewhere else. One star for the great service. Will never be back even if Groupon had a buy one get two free.

Expensive for a buffet. And the food was cold! Not only was the food rubbery like it was old but it was barely room temperature. We were there between 6 an 6:30 PM so it should have been fresh but it wasn't. Can't imagine they'll pass a health code inspection based on the temperature of the food. Won't be back and we're hoping we dont get sick from it.

This is my 2nd time to eat lunch here now and decided to post a review. I was not disappointed with Sushi House Buffet and will continue to be a returning customer. My wife and daughter enjoyed their meal just as much as I did. Before I continue I think it's important to note that when I review a buffet I keep my comparisons relative to other buffets. For example, it's not fair to compare the sushi at a buffet versus sushi at a sushi specialty restaurant. Food: The food is very good and flavorful. They do a really good job of keeping the various items full. The buffet line includes sushi, Mongolian BBQ, teriyaki chicken, crab, muscles, oysters, clams, orange chicken, shrimp, chicken feet, frog legs, soups, beef, fried fish, whole fish and lots more. Lots of deserts and fruit to select from too. One thing I liked about the Sushi Bar was that all the prepared items are put in covered see-thru containers before being placed on the carousel. This really seems to help to keep the rolls fresh and not dried out like other places. The chefs at the sushi bar take special orders and also there is a menu to choose from too. Service: Great service. We were immediately greeted when arrived. Quickly seated and received our ordered drinks. Refills were quick and our dirty dishes quickly removed from the table. Overall, service was good. Cleanliness: The restaurant is very clean and maintained well. The buffet line is kept clean and maintained too. The restroom was very clean and did not smell. Overall, I would give Ocean Buffet 4.5 stars.

This place seemed exceptionally busy which reflected the food quality and service. The servers forgot to get us drinks. All the entrees were just cold and seemed pack with MSG -- we felt full after only 1 dish. Also expected, the sushi that rotated around the bar was lukewarm, had dry rice & tasted stale.

I noticed this place as I was flipping though the Elk Grove Laguna Shopper magazine. We decided to give this place a chance, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. They are cheap on all ingredients. Alike what other patrons say, the sashimi is not fresh. The shrimps are small. They were cheap on avocado! They only put a very, very, very small paste of avocado, and included it as an ingredient. They might as well take it off. The dragon roll should be called a shrimp roll. The rainbow roll should be called an uni-roll. This place is a sad place to be called an establishment. The one star is for the oysters, but unfortunately, they were not refilled fast enough. Do yourself a favor, and pay a little more to go to Fuji. It is well-worth the extra money you pay.

This location has a history of going through many change in management. I can't remember the very first name of this place, but I do recall it as Panda Buffet, then Kame, and now it is called Sushi House Buffet. I must say, I enjoyed it when it was Kame. Perhaps because the service I received was much better than Sushi House. Here at Sushi House, the serving staffs seem a bit fobby. I'm not trying to offend anyone but I just don't know any other easier way to explain it. They are quick to grab your drink orders but if you are ordering your rolls through the server, you can expect to wait awhile for it. When ordering a sushi roll off the menu, you're asked for half or full roll. They advise to order the amount you are able to finish. Our table ordered two full rolls, a phoenix and a dragon. The two rolls are near identical. Only difference being the Phoenix having fried soft-shell crab inside while the Dragon has crab meat. After finishing two plates of food, our rolls never came so we inquired about it. Eventually the server came back with just the Phoenix roll. Not sure what happened to the dragon roll... Some pros about this place: I do like the metal conveyor belt that rotates small plates in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. The small plates offer some variety of nigiris. Wasabi and ginger are self served. Huge plus for me since I LOVE ginger. At sushi restaurants, I feel like I'm constantly nagging the server to refill my plate with ginger.. Large selection of Asian oriented food here. Some dim sum items as well. The price here is amazing, only $8.95 for lunch. Some things I didn't like so much: Desserts.. boooo.. No ice cream!! Wahhh! Lol. There were some cake rolls and a lot of fruits but nothing cold and creamy. Servers here didn't talk much. If they made the effort to ask us once in awhile if we need anything, that would have earn them a bigger tip. I'll be giving this place one more try during dinner time to see what they have to offer. I hope dinner time will be better than lunch.

This place is huge n clean. Maybe because their pretty new n hopefully they keep their cleanness. for lunch they serve tuna n salmon only, but no sashimi! Which is understandable cause they price so cheap. They have Chinese section on steam table. I won't recommend it although it's more variety than fuji buffet. Overall, if u looking cheap place for lunch, than stop by at this place.

  • Catie D.

Great sushi! Tons of Chinese food options as well. You can order the sushi to be made or select off the sushi bar. Staff is attentive. Never had to wait for a table. And how can you beat $8.95 for lunch and $13.95 for dinner. That's the price of 1 roll itself at any other sushi restaurant. Quality is great too! My only fear of writing this review is it will become so popular that there will end up being a wait and that prices will increase... however they very well deserve the business.

I was so excited to try this restaurant despite the reviews I already read on Yelp. I was really hungry! There were about 5 short aisles of food on warmers. The dishes were mainly Asian-style (fried rice, wontons, hot and sour soup, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork). The more lavish options consisted of crab legs, soft shell crab, sashimi, cooked and raw oysters, and sushi. Some items were readily available and others were made to order. It was disappointing, however, to read on their menu that any leftover sushi would incur an extra charge. I understand, no one wants to see food go to waste. It's just unappealing to read such a statement. The crab legs were salty and I don't believe they were fresh. Most sushi rolls that can be ordered includes deep fried shrimp which appears to be "the filler". I'm not a big fan of breaded or deep fried anything and I learned the hard way. I had to eat those rolls! With their sushi, full or half rolls are available. A good option if you want to try a variety. Sushi boats circle the bar, if you decide to eat there instead of a table or booth. What I did enjoy was their raw oyster. Admittedly, I took a risk considering the reheated crab legs. The oyster was plump, fresh, and didn't leave an after taste. I had one and could've had another 2 or 3; but didn't want to risk it all! I also liked the soft shell crab less the salt that was sprinkled on it. So, for the best part of the meal you ask? I would have to say it's their clear lychee jello! I've given them 2 stars because the food was subpar. There's nothing notable that would bring me back. If you're hungry, looking for Chinese food, craving sushi, or all of the above, this is not a bad option. Just remember to eat all of your rolls!

Not bad, no terrible, pay for what you get. if you want cheap sushi ayce and Chinese food this is your place. The food at the bar was cold for the most part. Would've liked to eat there when everything was hot and fresh.

  • Xue V.

Pretty cool spot. The sushi are made once they're ordered so the rolls are pretty fresh. There's also about 22 rolls of choice, which I think isn't a bad variety for an AYCE sushi spot. The service was acceptable. However some foods from the buffet could have been better. The fries and nuggets weren't warm and you can tell they've been sitting for a while but I guess that can be normal for buffets. I'll visit again soon.

Perhaps the best made-to-order sushi buffets in the Sacramento area. Large, high quality specialty and custom rolls + a food bar with exotic items from the kitchen.

I always drive pass this place, but seen that this has gone through so many management changes that I never wanted to give it a shot. However, I saw one of my yelp friends reviews and decided to give it a try since it was 20 % off. I'm going to give this place two stars. One for the friendly staff who helped me because I was new, and the second for a variety of food. However the food did not wow me like it should for 15.95. There was a good selection of Chinese food and sushi. Chinese food included the typical: fried rice, beef chow fun, salt pepper shrimp, black bean clams, egg flower soup, hot and sour soup, fish, and a lot more. They had seafood as well. Snow crab legs, not Alaskan. It was dry and rubbery. Cooked oysters were decent. They had fruit and small squared cakes. Sushi was made to order. Staff only knows the rolls by number. So make sure you tell them what number you are ordering and whether you would like a half or full order. Or you can simply walk up to the conveyor belt and choose your own. The sushi rolls aren't bad, but all of them are mostly smothered with the spicy mayo sauce ( pink). You can also order sashimi, raw oysters, shrimp tempera, soft shell crab, and fried oysters with your server. Overall hospitality was nice, but the food was not outstanding. The place is very empty, so the turn over rate for the food is not fast enough. Food will sit there for a very long time.

This place will never beat Fuji's but it is way better than most Chinese buffets around Sac. I went here with my mom and best friend on a Sunday afternoon and our bill came out to be nearly $50. It's kinda pricey and I feel like it was not really worth it. The sushi on the belt was so basic and all tastes the same. We didn't know the type of stuff that they had and what we could order (for example: fried soft shell crab, sashimi, etc) because there was no menu at the table. We had to ask the waitress and she explained to my mom in Vietnamese what they had. Still, it would've been better if it was written on a wall or something. I just loaded up on their cooked oysters, sashimi, and salmon nigiri because it was the only thing I liked. They had a setup in the back of popular Chinese buffet items like salt and pepper shrimp, to fresh fruit, and crab legs. Overall, I would go again if I was in the area and if Fuji's is closed. But it's really not worth the drive from home. This is the type of place you go to get stuffed and full, not to enjoy the food (because it's average) if you get what I'm saying.

Ho hum..I expected more. The shrimp cooked in shell was so overdone you couldnt peel the skin off it kept crumbling. ( the shrimp meat was mealy it was so completely over done) The snow crab was too salty and the poor legs were so skinny I felt bad trying to eat them. The tea was good and the salmon sashimi was actually fresh and good tasting. Probably not coming back

This place changes owners and names often so I went in not expecting too much. But I was pleasantly surprised. Came here for lunch. The food is pretty good for the price and the staff are friendly. I pretyy much hovered over all the seafood.

I wanted to give this place a try despite the three star rating . Upon walking in, I was fortunate enough to bump into some relatives who were walking out of the buffet . They mentioned to us its a pretty good buffet but definitely doesn't beat fujis . We thought it'd still be worth a try considering it was packed, looked clean, and was nicely decorated . We were seated pretty quick and noticed the conveyor belt serving sushi . The sushi bar was pretty awkwardly placed . I felt super rude having to reach over people eating at the bar in order for me to grab some rolls. You could never go wrong with the hot food, right? It was pretty good despite how long it must've been sitting out. Our waiter only served us drinks and never came back which I thought was annoying because with it being our first time, we would've appreciated it if he told us how things worked so we didn't get a chance to try any made to order rolls that day. On 3/30/15 we decided to give it another try. This time with family, and considering it was a Monday evening , it wasn't as busy as it was on Saturday . Our server was quick, attentive, and refilled our waters right away. What I liked most about my second visit was, knowing how to order and what they offer outside of sushi like fried oysters and soft shell crab. If they offered fried calamari like fujis, I probably would've been a lot happier. We were able to try their specialty rolls , soft shell crab, and mixed sashimi this time. For specialty rolls I got the honeymoon and spicy tuna . The spicy tuna roll was cut in huge pieces making it more rice than anything . On top of that, the rice was extremely mushy . The honeymoon roll was good but all it tasted like was rice and lots of sweet sauce . Soft shell crab- extremely oily making it impossible to taste. The oil made the batter super soggy . It seemed as if they used More batter than crab. Mixed sashimi- I wanted to enjoy it because it was plated so nicely but the texture was hard, it smelled pretty bad, and it had a weird after taste. The manager was the nicest ! She was super friendly and kept thanking us for coming . " it's all because of you guys , that's why we've been busy because people like you guys come !"

Sushi isn't great, service is absolutely terrible. We ordered sushi rolls in the very beginning and it took 30 minutes for JUST the raw fish. The rolls didn't come until later when we were full and basically done with dinner. The fish was not fresh and the seaweed salad was so gross. Worst part is, no ice cream!!! The best part of buffets is dessert but unfortunately, no good dessert here! Although the crawfish and crab was fresh and the fried cream cheese wontons were delicious. Overall, sushi isn't their best feature so maybe they should change the name of the restaurant.

My main reason for coming here was for the crab legs. They had plenty of crab legs so it was a great deal for the price. I also enjoyed the oysters, soft shelled crab, and salmon sashimi. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Standard Asian buffet type of entrees with not much flavor. But since I love seafood, I will definitely return.

This place is bigger then Fuji but the bar looks about the same size many a bit smaller . I really did enjoy coming here because there was no ridiculous line the rolls are delicious and this place just looks cleaner . Also the rolls at bar have a cover to protect them from germs my wife says the rolls taste fresher but I can't tell the difference it's all delicious to me .

This place keeps getting resurrected from the dead. First it was Panda Buffet, then it became Kame, and now they're opened as Sushi House Buffet. We didn't even find out that today was their grand opening until we drove by on our way to pick up our dogs from the groomer (check out Pooch & Purr, they're awesome!). There were no lines, but for a layout that huge they filled up quickly, almost to full capacity. Not much has changed in terms of quality of selection. Plenty to choose from, especially with fried food and soup. Sushi, on the other hand, was a bit scarce, which is ironic considering it's part of their name. I particularly enjoyed the squid -- nicely marinated and seasoned. Service was friendly. They're really quick with pre-bussing and refills. An okay experience, overall. Nothing stood out in particular, so I'm in no hurry to come back.

Just like the 3 other sushi buffets before, the food here was just average...do they only let sushi buffets take over this spot?! Looking from a business perspective, Fuji Buffet rules the AYCE sushi category in Elk Grove. If you can't be better than them, then good luck. Good points: Lots of seating. It was actually surprisingly crowded for it being grand opening night. Their hot food was constantly stocked. They had wonton soup which I usually don't see at buffets (along with their usual hot and sour, miso, and egg drop soups). Service was good - friendly and quick. The sushi, which is in the name of the place, was scarce. They're only on a rotating track at the sushi bar. What if the bar was full? Do I have to reach over everybody to get sushi? I only enjoyed the tamago sushi - everything else was mushy and had no flavor to me. I am in no hurry to come back unfortunately, much like the other sushi buffets that resided here in the past :( P.S. They don't even have soft serve ice cream :(

Really good for price ! 13.95 for adults and 3 for kids !! Really good sushi and all you can eat snow crab legs.. I will defiantly be coming back here with my fam bam !! Lots of variety of food

Overall, I really like this place. It's quite a deal for the price. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I'll be honest, there were only two MINOR complaints keeping me from giving it a perfect score: some of the sushi on the conveyer belt was not at optimum serving temperature (though with a few plates I imagine that's not unexpected), and the cantaloupe at the fruit/dessert buffet was not quite ripe. Seriously though, we WILL be coming back!

This is a great restaurant if you are looking for tasty Chinese food and sushi rolls. But if you are looking for a seafood experience this might not be a place you want to go. The crab was very soft and over boiled the taste was not great and they were pretty small. We ordered a sushi roll it was big and tasted pretty good. The service was awful we asked the waitress a question she completely ignored us twice and didn't refill my soda ever. She also took a long time to clear the plates away and acted like she did not want to take our sushi roll order but she did. There was three of us and the bill was $50, so not too bad for great sushi just don't fill up on anything else.

Honestly, I never set foot in this establishment during its years of previous incarnations, even when patronizing other very nearby places such as Foot & Body Reflexology a few doors down. Don't really have a fave go-to Japanese place in Elk Grove anymore, and have been meaning to try this and Kobe Grill since they're fairly new in town. Of course, there is Fuji's, but it is always so busy there. Came in for a late Sunday lunch, $9.95 per person and 10% off, bottomless drinks for $1.25. First impressions: Clean and spacious, lots of staff, seated immediately in a booth and drink orders placed. No TVs or music playing, sparse decor, right by railroad tracks so occasionally trains would go by but that's a location thing. Sushi bar with conveyor (plates go around covered, or you can order rolls off the menu) to the right as you enter. About four sections for hot food all the way straight back from the entrance, wide range. Furthest right near the sushi bar was fried stuff like crab wontons, chicken nuggets, veggie eggrolls, veggie tempura, hot and sour/egg flower soups. They also have chow mein, chow fun, fried rice, fried fish, steamed fish, grilled salmon, crab legs, frog legs, chicken feet, mussels, steamed buns including taro and BBQ pork fillings. As far as poultry/beef/pork, there were pork rib tips, General chicken, salt and pepper chicken, broccoli beef, chicken with string beans, mushroom chicken, teriyaki chicken, etc. The last area of course had salad fixings (as well as edamame and seaweed salad), cut fruits (peaches, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew, oranges, pineapple, grapes) and other desserts like squares of mocha roll/cake. No ice cream. I only had one plate of the hot food, the items that I did try were all just okay. Teriyaki chicken was bland, general chicken was more like sweet and sour, preferred the steamed fish to the fried fish (both flounder/sole). Tempura was good, can't go wrong with veggies really. As far as desserts, the little mocha cake was actually good, not dry and the filling smooth, not gritty or anything. Pineapple wasn't fresh (probably canned chunks) but other fruit was okay. Ordered two half-rolls from the menu (full rolls are huge), the Spider Roll (#11, fried softshell crab, crab meat, cucumber, sauce) and the Rainbow Roll (#19, tempura shrimp, crab meat, cucumber, 3 kinds of sashimi, avocado, sauce). When they came out they both looked the same, with the orange mayo sauce, sweet sauce and panko crumbs on top of both -- Rainbow should be just the fish on top with the different color salmon/tuna, etc. showing. The rolls were sliced thin, more so the Rainbow roll; the softshell crab and shrimp tempura fillings were also small relative to the amount of batter. There is regular soy sauce (no lite) at the table but the wasabi and ginger is self-serve at a small table near the sushi bar. I also grabbed several 2-piece plates off the sushi bar conveyor, including salmon nigiri, spicy tuna, and some kind of cooked salmon roll. The sushi chefs offered to make something specific that I wanted if I didn't see it coming around on the plates. I should have asked for salmon sashimi and unagi, but I was pretty full at that point. Overall, the meal was filling but not too much, and sorta satisfying for the price.

Very solid 4 stars. The decor and dining area are quite nice, and the place seems to be pretty clean, definitely a place I'd feel comfortable bringing the family to eat, however this was a solo mission. As points of reference, I've been to Fuji buffet nearby several times, and also to the various Mizu locations around Sacramento. I was already pleased when I saw the price walking in, only $15 for an adult dinner! Also in addition to having three rows of hot foods and desserts and such, they offer a a full sushi boat bar, with reverse action tracks (you have to see it to know what I mean). Normally I wouldn't expect such good quality of sushi at a Chinese buffet like this, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the fish really fresh, the rice portions were reasonable, and the sauces on the rolls were quite tasty. I didn't try it all of the hot items, and there were a few items that out of the gate were a no go for me, including fried frogs legs and chicken feet. Now that being said, I did appreciate some of the more interesting dishes like the pork spare ribs, chow fun, and steamed rock cod. The service was pretty good also, the waitress stopped by several times to check on me, my plates were always cleared quickly. For a minute, I was a little paranoid that they were hard telling me on the sushi rolls, because that would fill me up more, until I realized that the sushi rolls are actually really good, so it makes sense for them to recommend them. So given the decent quality of the food, the pleasant atmosphere, and the price, I would gladly visit this place over Fuji, especially given the crazy wait times over there.

I will have to say after trying the place -twice that the food is not good. The Shrimp (sashimi) taste as If it was sprinkled with vinegar. The salmon was not fresh. Waste of $$ even with a 10% discount.

Favorite place to go for any special occasion or event in our family. Food is always hot and the menu is great to choose from. When they say only order half for a dish, it's because it's a huge roll to begin with. It's an amazing experience.

If you're looking for good sushi to eat, the sushi here is only so-so. I liked most things at the buffet, especially the hot foods. Some of the food highlights on my first visit are the Mongolian Beef, Cheese Wontons, and the crab legs they served. However, there was not a lot of variety of sushi and I repeatedly grabbed the same sushi plates because the plastic lids on them made it a little difficult to see. I ate a kind of sushi that tasted terrible to me (first time I've ever rejected finishing a sushi!) I think it was a type of dried vegetable chopped up kind of sushi. Overall, definitely go here if you want a decent assortment of hot Chinese and Japanese foods. Fuji's sushi has more selection and tastes better, but Sushi House is a lower price. You get what you pay for.

The sushi is fake. They used substitutes for soft shell crab, tuna and eel. Everything are canned seafoods. I cannot recognized the seafood substitutes.

Panda Buffet, Kame, and now Sushi House Buffet. I really hope this place doesn't follow in the footsteps of the first two businesses. This place has potential to become one of the top sushi buffets in Elk Grove, however, the food needs some work. Because it's still within the grand opening period, my boyfriend I decided to stop by to take advantage of the 20% off our bill and just to try out a new sushi buffet. The good: The service was EXCELLENT. Although the staff here were not fluent in English or didn't know how to speak English, they were polite, and offered great service. They always smiled, made sure out tables were cleared all the time, and our drinks were always being offered to be refilled. The sushi chefs were friendly and always happy as well. They moved fast, and took care of us. The food needs work. Some items were definitely a hit and most other foods were misses. The sushi.... Missed. For the specialty rolls, the sushi's rice was too mushy. The appearance of the rolls needed some work/skill to make it look more presentable. HOWEVER, the sashimi/fish was super fresh and tasted great. Definitely a plus for the fresh sashimi. Specialty rolls needs work. The food bar was decent. Their chowmein had a smoky taste to it and tasted really good, same goes for the fried rice. The American food bar with the fried things, such a fried chicken nuggets were not appealing and looked extremely stale (because not many eats it, my tip would be for them to substitute it for other Chinese dishes). Dessert was great. The clear Jello, which turned it to be LYCHEE JELLO was delicious and unique! Fruits were fresh, and the pastries/cake pieces tasted good. Overall, it wasn't too bad. This place can definitely do better. Will update the next time we come back.

Place was clean and spacious. Interior is the same as when it was Kame. The 20% off bill will get you to try the place. The small plates of sushi had covers on them as it passes you by on the conveyor belt. The Chinese food wasn't too bad but the sushi itself was a disappointment. They do give you a big roll of sushi but the flavor was lacking. The "fresh" fish was sliced very thinly. Presentation of the sushi wasn't too bad but then again, all the rolls looked the same. We couldn't tell which was which as all of them had panko like crumbs on top. Watch out for the canned fruits though!! My sons and I were enjoying the peaches when low and behold, there was a worm on one of the peaches!! disgusting!!!!! Totally lost my appetite. I flagged down our server and told her there's a worm on the peaches and she acted like she didn't understand English when just moments ago she was explaining to another couple how the sushi order works!! Of course she avoided me like a plague and when she came back, the bill was left on the table. I notified the cashier to check the fruits as I found a very scrumptious worm on one of my peaches. She just said "oh no, so sorry" and that was it. hmmmmm NEVER coming back there!!!

We decided to try sushi house buffett because my dad and stepmom love buffetts. I wasn't encouraged by the average yelp reviews, but thought it couldn't be worse than #1 buffett. The hot food buffett was pretty much standard fare: fruit and (mediocre) dessert section, won tons, fried spring rolls, soup, fish, fried chicken (pretty good), short ribs, etc. There is a separate sit down sushi section with sushi on rotating boats with sushi plates. You can also order Half and full rolls from a small fixed menu. This would have the potential to be very good, but the sushi chefs lack of good sauces absolutely kill some of the sushi put out. I actually tasted a honey mustard sauce that tasted like it came from a Mcdonald's chicken nugget meal...yuk. Coming from the bay area, I'm spoiled by kome in Daly City which I think sets a standard for quality buffetts. Unfortunately, sushi house needs some work (especially in the sushi section) to attain that status. *be warned to order only what you can finish as you may be charged for any uneatened food.

Went here for the first time with my family and definitely worth it! Better than Fuji sushi buffet because your not Crammed in a small space. Plus side too the sushi belt has all the rolls individually covered!!! A much better, fresh taste and more variety of food choices in the buffet food area. Great service too! Will definitely come here again.

Nope... This is why I don't go to Chinese buffets... Only reason why I went here was because my uncle wanted to try it. Instead of giving it one star I'll give it two because it is clean. That is about it. Food: not good... Your better off paying a little more and going to Fuji or Raku for sushi buffet. There was not much variety and all the rolls tasted the same. The Chinese food was cooked so wrong. I did not like one single thing. You can't mess up Cheese wonton, it's literally cream cheese and a wonton wrap but.... You did. There was a smudge of cheese and the wrap was hard as a rock. I can go on and on. Service: the lady that served us was really nice, but they definitely do not know the sushi menu. Another table asked her what were the rolls we ordered and she ended up asking me! I'm not mad about that part. Technically they are still new, but come on! Also, you'll see a BUNCH of employees just wondering around. There is too many of them. Overall, it's your typical low end Chinese Buffet. Lunch is $9.95 and dinner is $15.95. Drinks are $1.95 and they are running a deal for the first month they are opened. They are giving you 20% off your total. Good luck everyone!!!

OMG! I thought I was in Gulliver's Travels!! Everything here is miniature size! The sushi roll we ordered supposedly had shrimp and crab deep fried. I included a photo of the shrimp they give you. Almost the same diameter as the chop stick!!! I think Bay Shrimp is even bigger. The sashimi was ultra thin where you can almost see through it. The Chinese food everything was spicy which means the ingredients are old to hide the old flavor. Even the crab was miniature! The service was good though. The price is $9.95 for lunch and $15.95 for dinner but they give 20% for the grand opening. This is the first time I've EVER left a Buffet not full.

You can forget about all the other Asian/sushi buffets. These guys have everything RIGHT, down to the service, quality of food, flavor, pricing, and SEATING AVAILABILITY! The Backstory: At first, my friends and I were planning on going to Fuji's for some sushi, and I have to admit that I was really excited to go. After running a few errands to kill time until it was 2pm, my friend found this place on Yelp. He told me about it, and I was extremely hesitant to visit, as it only had about 3 stars. My friend, however showed me pictures of it, and he was sold on the looks of the sushi alone, despite being more critical about food than me. First Impression: Upon stepping in, we were greeted by a waiter who got us to our seats at the bar. The waiter was friendly, and I tried so hard to find everything that was wrong with the place to discredit it, and find an excuse to end up going to Kobi's instead. However, I was shocked at what I found. There was so much room in the restaurant to accommodate hungry patrons, there was practically no wait (or excruciating waitlists/lines outside), and the place was super clean! So far, I couldn't find a reason to dislike it. What's even cooler is the fact that they have a sushi track that allows plenty of people to come and sit down, and it reminded me of how they did it in Hong Kong. Service: My experiences at restaurants are primarily based upon two things: service, and the food itself. As for service, I was trying to catch the staff off their A game, and see if they would give me any attitude or mean looks. Unfortunately for my preconceived notions (from previous Yelp reviewers), all the servers were extremely nice and constantly checked on our waters and empty plates. You would seriously be surprised how far something as simple as the water refill protocol is crucial to service. These guys not only check frequently to ensure your drinks don't get empty, but they even place it in a respectful position from the customer, (in front to ensure that it doesn't block customers, or cause a potential water spill.) The sushi chefs were also very attentive to customers, and assured us to just ask if we have any other requests. Other famous sushi buffets completely lack on the friendliness, but these guys wear a smile non-stop, and respond very politely to all your requests, and then get them done promptly as well. Chinese Food Buffet: I was actually very surprised when I tried my first plate of food. I was so ready to be disappointed as many other Asian buffets have let me down, but the flavors were perfect with the things that I tried! The potstickers were on point with flavor and texture, as was the chow fun. I have been raised with a high standard palette when it comes to Chinese food, and these guys surely got the flavors right! The steak and seafood during the dinner hours totally make the extra $6 WORTH IT! Seriously, the steak was so good, and they have this giant piece for you to cut yourself! The oysters were also very delicious and had the proper textures. Sushi Buffet: The vast variety of sushi was tremendous! These guys have a ton that they have coming around, and they are also often refreshed to ensure freshness. I thought that the sushi on the track was amazing, but then I tried the made to order rolls, and I was just blown away! What's also great is that there are menus you can "order" from with descriptions of the rolls. When it comes to sushi, there are some basic requirements to pass off as "decent" sushi. First, you must have the proper temperature, the quality of the raw fish is also very important, the amount of rice is also very crucial, as many sushi buffets try to use the rice as filler to save on ingredients and finally, timing! These guys surpassed all the categories flawlessly. One thing I would definitely warn others about is when you commit to ordering a "full" roll. Their "half" rolls are usually what you receive when you simply order a roll from any other sushi restaurant. These guys' full rolls are about the size of 1 and a half to two rolls combined. Make sure you are able to finish it! I enjoyed the Alaskan Roll, and the Stockton Roll. BONUS: These guys also have great time availabilities, whereas other buffets usually try to bottleneck the "lunch" portion at around 2pm or something inconvenient like that, while these guys serve lunch until 3pm. They also have FREE meals on your birthday (with id proof), and discounts for senior citizens. They throw out all the food in between the Lunch and Dinner to ensure that the food is FRESH! THEY ALSO HAVE A TO-GO MENU FOR THEIR SUSHI FOR AROUND $8 max for their FULL ROLLS! Also, when I spoke to the manager, they were very compassionate and were very nice. I was completely shocked to hear that others would have a problem with a place like this, and they obviously have not seen the competition that they trump. I don't know what others are complaining about. I'll be coming here every time I want sushi.

Came in on a Thursday evening around 7PM with a group total of 7 people. Food: Pretty much your standard Asian/Chinese buffet. Good variety of dishes, about 3 rows of food and 1 row of desserts. What was nice about the buffet was that they had king crab legs. They also serve 20 different types of sushi rolls and sashimi but it has to be ordered through the waiter. Of course it does take some time so I just if you want sushi order it first. I personally ordered a Dragon Roll, King Roll, Super Tuna Roll, Phoenix roll, all of them tasted great, good quality like pure sushi restaurants. Now they do charge extra if you do not finish what you can order, so what was nice is that you can order half rolls. The only thing that was disappointing was no ice cream. But the variety of desserts was still good. Service: Waiter was attentive, just a little trouble with English but our orders were accurate. Place: Clean and spacious eating area. Open so I was worried that our group was loud and maybe disturbing other patrons. There is also a rotating sushi bar but seats singles of course. I also checked out their bathrooms and they were well maintained, clean, and stocked. Overall: Pretty good buffet place. Would not mind coming back especially if I want a buffet. Price is expected, ~$20 including tax & tip for dinner buffet.

Okay so this spot has a bad reputation for opening and shutting down but this new restaurant seems kind of promising. I read other reviews on how they skimp you on the fish. Its true they do, but its a buffet you get what you pay for. I rather choose this place over fujis anyday. This review is for lunch only. The chef told me they do deep fried tempura and oysters for dinner and they have alaskan snow crab legs too. Ill have to come and see. And they also need a more variety based menu. They only had 23 rolls on the menu. Theyre chinese buffet has a huge selection of food and the waiters and waitress have very good service everytime i was done with a plate it was gone within seconds they kept my waters filled my napkins replaced and my eating area clean. The only problem i dont like about this place is theres no tv or music kind of boring. They need to add a fish tank or some type of decor. The place is huge and the people are nice. Its still 20% off so it was 17.20$ for 2 people!! Thats a deal!!

Although not in comparison to a Las Vegas Buffet, Sushi House may be one of the best buffets in Elk Grove. It has the foreign appeal from the Japanese sushi boats, but it still keeps some American influence from the deep fried sushi and Mex Spice roll. Its a great place to take that one friend who hasn't touched a piece of raw fish in their life. What I love the most is that you can order huge plates to share between your party for no extra charge. Its pretty great. Get the fried oyster. Had to knock down a star for the lack of variety with the desserts, and the lack of authentic Japanese food. I would consider this place more focused on Chinese dishes rather than Japanese.

I've eaten here 3 times since under new management--It's pretty good and CLEAN. I will not go near Fuji's --the last time I ate there a woman changed her babies diaper at the TABLE!!! Fuji's is crowded and dirty. This place is clean and they have a great selection of Chinese buffet food plus sushi. You can get the sushi made to order or already made spinning around at the sushi bar.The wait staff is friendly and helpful, too. They are quick to fill up your drink glass and clear your table of dirty dishes. Lunch prices are pretty reasonable considering it's a buffet. For dinner, they have crab legs--YUM!

Good quality sushi , very cheap price , friendly stuff Wow , I'm surprised to see the low rating for this place . We went for lunch today , the sushi was very good , looks fresh , the place itself is clean and organized . The amazing thing was the price , it was a 10 € with a 10% off . I honestly don't know how they managed to make it so cheap . Actually we asked the waitress how is the price so low , she said they're not making any profit from it so far . Anyways i will try to go as much as i can before they raise it cuz i Loved it . It's not even comparable to fuji , i had a bad experience there that i almost hated sushi period. I would definitely recommend it .

Not amazing. Not terrible. That's why this sushi buffet gets 3 stars: it's average. Some of the sushi is great but some of their items are clearly dumped in a pan straight from a can (ie peaches, edamame, etc). The batter on the shrimp tempura is caked on which was frustrating and the dessert department is lacking. (C'mon, at least get a soft serve machine!) I enjoy ordering custom sushi rolls here. The Mayo chicken, General Tsao chicken, crab legs, and oysters are great tho, as is the customer service. I'd be back, but only for a special occasion or something, as I believe the prices to be a bit high, even with the 10% discount.

It was a good place for 20% off. The quality was a little lacking but I was pleased and I ordered a ton of rolls . They also have Chinese food which is probably equal in quality to the sushi. I still prefer a restaurant over a buffet. We had to ask for refills and retrieve our own wasabi.

I came here with low expectations and I left happy and satisfied. The sushi was smaller portions but I like that because I was able to taste more. I love their octopus seaweed salad! Their other food options were not bad either . they even had crab legs and mussels! We ate a lot of those (typical Asians) but hey, we got our money worth. I definetly recommend everyone to give this place a try. $15 for Monday's night dinner with seafood is not so bad.

Giving a rating of three stars because it wasn't anything spectacular, but I would return again! There's a wide selection of Chinese food, many fried appetizers. I really liked the fried shrimp and french fries haha. The chow mein was tasty. I thought it was better than most Chinese restaurants, which made me wonder if they put msg in their food. I did have food coma shortly after my meal.. I also ordered half of the stockton roll and chose a couple sushi plates off the conveyer. To be honest, most of the rolls taste the same to me, but it's still good enough considering how little I paid. The prices actually decreased a dollar. Lunch is now $8.95! What a deal! My stomach was upset a little after eating, I was wondering if it was one of the conveyer items that was sitting out so long because that was the only different item I ate compared to my friend, who felt fine after our visit. Next time, i'll just order rolls from the menu on the table. Hopefully this buffet lasts unlike the many former establishments at this location.

My family and my friend's family came here after an awards night at our middle school. Coming here, I wasn't expecting anything great or even good because most buffets usually do not have good sushi. I started out by getting some Chinese food(bbq pork buns, chow menu, egg rolls, and tempora vegtables). It was mediocre and the only thing I actually liked was the bbq pork bib buns. Hoping the sushi was better, I tried a small salmon roll. The salmon tasted old. My dad then ordered me a rainbow roll. It did not look appetizing, but I still took a note and then I gagged because of it. I did not want to be mean so I didn't say anything about it. I suggest not coming. If you feel like sushi, just go to a regular sushi restaurant.

Service was pretty good. I don't expect much from buffets, but for the price this place is really bomb and a cheaper alternative if you are use to going to Fuji's. This place has really good sushi rolls, oysters, crab, and steak. The other foods were ok. Only bad thing is they don't really have much dessert. No ice cream. Just the basic fruits and jello. I'll definitely come back tho.

I don't give bad reviews often. I usually don't go to buffets either, but on this occasion it was to meet up with my in laws. Service was ok. Servers had a hard time understanding my husband's request. He wanted a spicy tuna roll deep fried. Lol when it came out it wasn't deep fried and there were four orders. We explained to him that we just wanted one full roll deep fried. It took 45 mins for them to correct it, and when it did come out, it was individually deep fried. Really come on lol. Chinese food was meh and sushi was not good. Overall we will never give it a second try.

I've got to say, I'm not a big fan of this place. The sushi was adequate, not good or great. You can taste how the quality differs from other and more popular sushi places in sac. I ordered a spider roll and a caterpillar roll. They were not so much big as they were long. The rolls were miniature sized but were extra long... The spider roll barley had any soft shell crab which was a huge let down because it's my favorite. The waitress was at the chinese buffet stirring all the food and you could tell by the taste that it had been sitting under heat lamps all day my friend found rotten melon in the fruit section of the buffet. This place is huge but barely any customers were in the restaurant on a Friday afternoon and it's obvious why. The ambiance was okay but overall, I will naht be back.

I went here with a few friends for lunch and the food was okay for $9, but it wasn't the best. I think the sauce on the sushi rolls were a bit too sweet for my liking. It was pretty empty, so there was no wait.

This place is like any other Sushi Buffet. A bunch of Chinese food and Sushi, but they do have a bunch of snow crab that tends to go really fast every time they being a new batch out. The crab was my favorite part of this entire buffet. Which is the only reason why I'll give it a 3/5 stars. The sushi was average at best, over-sauced and bland to describe. I wish they had fresher fish, there was one piece of sashimi that I had was on verge of going bad. The tempura that they used in their rolls had way too much breading which didn't help the bland sushi. All in all, the Chinese food a 4/5 and the sushi is a 2/5. Plus, WHERE THE HELL IS THE ICE CREAM.

This place used to be another buffet but has reopened with the current name. There is a wide variety of Chinese food as well as sushi. The restaurant is pretty spacious and has a sushi bar. I sat at the table. You are supposed to be able order sushi from one of the servers or at the bar. At first I tried to order at the bar as it wasn't crowded and there were five chefs working the bar. I stood around for a while but could not get anyone's attention to get my order. I even moved to be in their line of sight! I finally gave up and ordered from the server. Most of options were rolls and skimpy on the fish. I ordered sashimi too. The slices were pretty thin and for a "large plate" the portion was small...understandable since this is a buffet and you can always order more. I definitely think that Fuji is the way to go if you want sushi. The Chinese food was much better than the sushi. The oysters were plump and flavorful and disappears almost as soon as they are put out so you need to keep an eye out. Clams were also delish and didnt have any sand. There was snow crab which I don't normally eat but they were so good and sweet I ended eating a bunch. Those were the sandouts...the other food was standard fare. There is a 20% discount applied to your bill the month of March and they give you a card for 20% off that expires in may.

This place is good for the price you pay. To go portions are big for a good price too. Customer service is usually friendly when I go

Didn't want to wait at Fuji so decided to try out this place. I must say, it wasn't too bad at all. I was pleasantly surprised. I requested for some salmon and unagi sashimi and they kindly made it for me. You also have the option of having a full or half rolls. Hot selection was just like any other Asian buffet. Nice selection. Will come back again for sure.

Eh it was okay. It looks exactly the same as the last restaurant besides the addition of a conveyer belt. Food was okay, nothing special. Rather save your 16 bucks and add two more dollars to go to Fujis. I added an extra star for the friendly staff. They were very helpful and attentive.

Came here with my family on 3 separate occasions. Each time we came back, the food and service was excellent. My husband loves the salmon sashimi and oysters here. It's nice and fresh. I love their dragon roll. It's always made to order. I would definitely be coming back.

Very disappointed... I would give them another star or 2... If this place isn't name SUSHI HOUSE!.. hot Chinese food was decent, standard Chinese food. But when it comes to the sushi... HORRIBLE!.. the ratio of fish to a roll is 8%! If I wanted just rice and crab salad I would go to the back and have their mediocre, bland fried rice... This place need much improvement... Also from what I can tell its actually same emplyee of the previous KAME.. if this some sort of revamp... It actually worst than it was... At least back then sushi was properly portion... Jeez... I honestly want this place to do good.. so I'm not force to go to the default sushi buffet in the area... But if it's gonna be like this, I wouldnt be surprise if they close and someone else gives it a shot. P.S if this place was name CHINESE FOOD BUFFET and their focus wasn't on sushi... A easy 3-4 stars... Due to the service... Very quick and on top of everything.

Amazing. Great food. I will be back. You can order whole rolls or half. The tempura is perfect , not mushy at all. Crab is sweet and fresh. Mmmmmmmm!

Even without the 20% grand opening discount (effective until4/30/15), this place is far cheaper than Fuji's sushi buffet. about 30% cheaper (without the discount or about 50% with the discount). That's a good thumbs up for me. The (dinner) Chinese food consisted of steamed oysters, fish, clams, snow crab legs, and many other goodies. I think the Chinese food tastes better than No 1 buffet by a little. The sushi bar had many items you can order, and the menu is on the table for you to choose from. They use a conveyer belt system to rotate the sushi around the sushi bar. My only complaint is how tiny the shrimp are that are being used for tempura shrimp. When I ate one I noticed how thick the batter was. I picked apart the thick layer of batter and got a chop stick sized shrimp. So imagine a Oscar Meyer frank sized battered tempura shrimp being peeled away to the size of a chopstick ...sad sad shrimp. I hope they get bigger shrimp when they stop doing the 20% off promotion. Because all the rolls that consisted of tempura shrimp(which is pretty much all of them) were disappointing too. When I left the restaurant I asked them for a Togo menu and they have a lot of sushi rolls for under 8 dollars a roll. I like this place so far. It's clean and they have lots of Chinese food along with the sushi. If they were to offer bigger shrimp than the smaller ones I would have given 4/5 stars. Maybe after the promotion I'll come back and they'll have bigger shrimp - I would change my rating higher then. They also have no TV's yet but they have the wall mounts all over the restaurant. I hope they planned on getting some!

First of all stepping inside already gave me a good feel about the place. I love it because there's a lot of natural lightings. It's very spacious and pleasant full with the attentive waitresses. The food is very light salted and not over cooked and very fresh. This is my 2nd time within a week and I choose this one over the "Fujis buffet" on Elk Grove blvd. Right now they are promoting their 10% off for grand opening! Must try! The sushi bar guys are much more friendlier and helpful compared to the "Fujis" ppl behind the sushi bar!!

Back from the dead...at least it is a sushi buffet again! Typical hot table food is okay. We went for dinner and the buffet areas were kept clean and food was not sitting for a long time. Crab legs and oysters were replenished immediately to point where people did not have to fight or box each other out to get some. Overall was above average...but definitely not to die for. The value of this place is what is not advertised. All the good stuff you must order from the chefs. All rolls are fresh! Sashimi, soft shell crab, etc etc. .you name it they probably have it. I do agree. .. the stuff on the conveyor belt is not too....desirable? !? Might be something about those covers. *shrug* The other nice thing is the place is clean...VERY clean. Not that grimy sticky feeling you get at most buffets! The staff was friendly and very attentive for a buffet. I hope this place stays in business. No need to drive up to florin rd for awhile. This can easily be a 4 star, but can slide into a 2 star if they let things go like the last owners. Time will tell.

No complaints here. Food was great got in around 230 just in time for the lunch deal 9.95 (wow can't beat that) food was great. In my opinion this is the best asian buffet here now. From the chow mien fried rice to the sushi. =) happy customer.

Came here for lunch. It's 20% during their grand opening promotion. The chinese food is mediocre. Pretty much foods you can find at most chinese buffets or Panda Express. Some of their foods weren't kept very warm. My dad ordered a couple of their rolls. The Mexican spice and the rainbow roll. Not impressed. There was little fish and a ton of rice. I'd suggest ordering half orders of the sushi first, so you won't be stuck eating a huge roll that isn't to your liking. You've gotta finish all your food or they'll charge you for wasting like most buffet places. My dad also ordered some sashimi which was not fresh and had a fishy taste to it. I love sushi and sashimi, so this is def not the place I would go if I wanted to have some. The shrimp tempura had way more batter than shrimp. Also when it was brought out to us, it didn't come with tempura sauce, so my dad asked the waiter for some and he said there wasn't any but suggested us to soy sauce. Lol.. Luckily I saw there was tempura sauce where the chinese foods were, so I got up to get some. I don't think I'd come back. My sister, dad and I were not impressed. If you enjoy good quality sushi, you should probably stick to mikuni, osaka or even fujis. My dad just wanted to try this place out since they reopened. I would give 2.5 stars cus their service is quick, with lots of waiters and waitresses walking around.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
